On Monday, OpenAI revealed news that is the most significant since ChatGPT's release: the arrival of ChatGPT Enterprise, the commercial version of its AI chatbot. Some of these entities include Block, Canva, and The Estée Lauder Cos.ChatGPT Enterprise comes with access to GPT-4 with no set limits on use, and performance that is two times faster compared to past editions, plus API credits. On Monday, OpenAI announced the launch of ChatGPT Enterprise, its AI chatbot's business tier. Developed in less than a year with over 20 companies in various industries contributing, the tool includes access to GPT-4 with no usage caps, faster performance, and API credits. Pricing will be determined on a case-by-case basis, and beta users included Block, Canva, and The Estée Lauder Cos. Microsoft's substantial investment in OpenAI earlier this year, as well as its reported $300 million share sale at a $27-$29 billion valuation, contributed to its launch. Just two months after ChatGPT's launch, it had surpassed 100 million monthly active users, becoming the fastest-growing consumer application ever. Now, 80% of Fortune 500 companies have teams using ChatGPT. Enterprise offers the ability to input company data to train and customize the chatbot, although some of these features aren't available yet. Plans to introduce a second tier, ChatGPT Business, for smaller teams are in the works, but no timeline has been set. OpenAI noted that users' conversations will remain encrypted, but that the company will collect aggregate data on performance and usage. In comparison to Microsoft's Bing Chat Enterprise, OpenAI has stated that customers are free to choose which platform works best for them. With the AI arms race increasing among big-name players, OpenAI has made several developments over the past few months, including the iOS and Android apps. Despite the high expenses of operating ChatGPT, OpenAI plans to onboard enterprises over the coming weeks.
