Observe: 'She declares that she will become a doctor and aid people similar to her father.'
Nick Hungerford, a technology entrepreneur, passed away at the age of 43. He was motivated to establish a charity for the benefit of bereaved children by the presence of his daughter.
Named after his two-year-old daughter Elizabeth, Mr Hungerford - who was suffering from terminal bone cancer - founded Elizabeth's Smile.
The charity expressed its deep sorrow on its website regarding the passing of its founder.
The charity declared that Nick's smile will be a source of inspiration forever.
In 2011, Mr Hungerford co-founded Nutmeg, an investment platform, which famously had 45 consecutive rejections from funders. However, it was acquired by JP Morgan in 2021 for a reported £700m.
In 2019, after feeling a pain in his right thigh, he was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. Subsequently, he had an operation to take out his femur.
However, at the conclusion of 2021, it was revealed that his cancer had come back and two weeks prior, in The Telegraph, he reported that he had two or three months left to live.
Nutmeg declared that Mr Hungerford had established himself as one of the UK's most prosperous fintech entrepreneurs.
The company stated that Nick was enthusiastic about aiding people to recognise their highest potential.
We are immensely proud of the path Nick embarked on.
In 2022, Mr Hungerford founded Elizabeth's Smile in the US, with the UK launch taking place just last month.
The charity announced that he had passed away on 6 July.
We are profoundly grieved to spread the report of Nick's passing. To honor the memory of our organizer, we remain committed to guaranteeing grieving kids accomplish their maximum capacity.
Mr Hungerford told the BBC on 30 June that being able to reflect on life was a privilege that not everyone had, and he believed there was a great unawareness of how the death of a parent impacted kids.
He stated that it felt like recognizing a vast unmet need in the industry and that it was not tolerable for his daughter and other kids to experience the consequences of having grieving parents.
His charity is devoted to increasing awareness among researchers and clinicians around the world concerning the effects of a child's parent being absent.
Mr Hungerford commented that the study would be beneficial in creating items for the second component of the organization, the Smile Network, which has a library of books offering directions on caring for youngsters after the death of a parent.
It will also help join together bereaved children with a parent-created network, so that even after the parent's passing, the child is still able to get tips and support for matters such as selecting a college or deciding which job to take.
Mr Hungerford declared that his daughter Elizabeth was a "tremendous source of strength" and is driven to become a doctor to "aid those in need, just like her father".
He stated that he created a website powered by artificial intelligence with recordings of himself responding to several private inquiries, so that his daughter would be able to access it and interact with him.
He claimed that she would be equipped with images, anecdotes, and admittance to his group of contacts, so she would be capable of forming a broader idea of him.
