Midday Stock Movement Highlighted: PagerDuty, Dell, Tesla, Broadcom and Others

VMware experienced a 2.6% reduction on the day after releasing a mixed second-quarter report, which included beating EPS expectations but missing on revenue. The athletic apparel retailer, Lululemon Athletica, saw a 5.2% stock boost due to their second-quarter earnings per share coming in at $2.68 compared to the $2.54 expected from Refinitiv analysts. The company also raised its yearly estimate. The chip stock Broadcom lost 5% when it forecasted slightly lower-than-expected revenue for its fiscal fourth quarter, despite reporting higher-than-anticipated earnings and revenue for the most recent quarter. Meanwhile, the pizza chain Papa John's rose 2% when Wedbush upgraded their outlook from neutral to outperform, claiming the shares to be too cheap. On the other hand, the stock of PagerDuty decreased 6.7% after their third-quarter guidance fell short of the StreetAccount consensus of 15 cents per share. Additionally, Baird dropped their outlook from outperform to neutral. Conversely, A-Mark Precious Metals shares rose 12.2% after the company posted its quarterly results and declared a $1 per share special dividend. Revenue totaled $3.16 billion, surpassing the anticipation of $2.31 billion, but their EPS of $1.71 measured lower than the analysts' expectation of $1.76. Elsewhere, Dell Technologies shares rose 22.4% when their second-quarter earnings per share and revenue outshone analyst Refinitiv's projections. Meanwhile, the drugstore chain Walgreens Boots Alliance plummeted 5.2% when Roz Brewer vacated her position as the company's CEO and left the board. Additionally, Tesla's shares dropped 4.5% when the electric vehicle maker reduced the prices for some of its Model S and Model X vehicles in China. Lastly, MongoDB was up 5.9% after outperforming Wall Street expectations in its latest quarter, with the firm's adjusted earnings of 93 cents per share on revenue totaling $423.8 million both reportedly surpassing the estimates of 46 cents per share and $393 million in revenue, according to a Refinitiv consensus.
