Biggest Stock Price Movers at Noon: Tesla, Qualcomm, Meta, Moderna and More

. Midday trading saw a flurry of company-related news today. Tesla's stock soared 6% after Morgan Stanley bumped its rating from equal weight to overweight, citing the company's progress in autonomous driving. J.M. Smucker and Hostess Brands announced a $5.6 billion cash and stock transaction that sent Hostess' shares to a new 52-week high, though the former was down 6.2%. Tenable Holdings, Kenvue and Qualcomm surged 4.3%, 3%, and 3.5%, respectively, on analyst upgrades, while Meta advanced on its reported efforts to develop a powerful AI system. On the flip side, Alibaba fell 1.8% after the news of CEO Daniel Zhang's departure from the cloud business, AstraZeneca declined 3% over a report claiming CEO Pascal Soriot might leave next year, and Moderna dropped 2% after partnering with German drug developer Immatics for cancer vaccine development. Meanwhile, media stocks advanced on news of Disney and Charter Communications nearing a deal to end their blackout fight.
